i'm back frm obs!!one word to describe it- unbelievable. it's a camp totall different frm the ones i had, pitching your own tent for 4night, cooking your own meal, basically back to basics...sleeping w/o aircon included, woke up sweating 3/4 of the nights. the night being unberably humid/hot that i couldn't sleep... scraping shoot off a pot using a STONE. becoming bffs with prickly heat during itchy/hot times, spamming powder till we looked all prep for a major chinese oprea but no one cared. eating milo and ovatine powder frm the packet in abscene of hot water.i came to realise how precious urban facilities are, and how they it feels when the are not accesibley, adapting to your environment, and mostly treasure the ppl around me. i missed my mum during the camp, miss her cooking...miss all the things she does for me daily to the extent that i ran over and gave her a hug when the bus arrived at sch.for those that knows me well enough i know your jaws are going to drop in disbelief but really i really missed my mum during the camp. the most credible part was the expedition, never did i imagine that i could trek a dist of 18km to and fro the island while carrying a 10kg backpack or kayak 18km round island for 9h with the tide going against us at many times. after that 9h, when we touched land again and i went to the toilet the whole cubicle was swaying as i looked around and that feeling is still present whenever i sit down. seriously the treking and kayaking are the craziest shit i've ever done, but i'm glad i did. the sense of accomplishment cannot be describe the smile that break across everyones face when te destination is reached. how whole wacth shouted raffles when we were nearing our destination and how the whole delta cheered when camp2's jetty came into view.obs is really a once in a lifetime experience, trust me. whatever i say might sound really corny and totally doesn't fit my character but i swear it's really what i feel. goodbye, obs.
